Housing/Roommate Information
As you are searching for a place: GSSM is located in Cumberland county. If you rent or purchase on the “East Shore” – or the Harrisburg side of the river – you will have to deal with rush hour traffic and longer drive times. If possible, try to stay close to Mechanicsburg, which is the “West Shore.” Most any community in the West Shore will be pretty close to Mechanicsburg.
We are assembling a list of housing information from former students. If you are interested in finding a roommate with another GSSM student please e-mail or send in your request to be added to the list. We will send that list out by email to all students that are interested, as it is accumulated.
We want to do our best to help keep you informed about possible housing opportunities and roommates, however the staff of GSSM and Global Awakening is not responsible for housing placement, roommate situations or any other living arrangements.

A fully furnished apartment that would comfortably house 2 students has just become available in Harrisburg, 7.5 mi. from the school. It has a private bath, full kitchen and dining room attached. Previous GSSM students have a large room with a divider and a closet at each end that they would like to open to 2 female students. The rent would be $250 per month per student and that would include all utilities, use of the washer/dryer, kitchen privileges, and Wi-Fi internet access throughout the house. The room is large and they could provide some furnishings too. They live in the downtown area of Harrisburg with a lot of ministry opportunities for those who want to hit the streets. The commute is about 15 to 20 minutes from our house to Global Awakening using the freeway or going through the heart of the city.
The house is very big- 3 levels all together and the students would be welcome to use other areas of the house. There is a central bathroom next to the bedroom. Their 22 year old daughter and her 3 yr. old son also occupy that level of the house so the bathroom would be shared by 3 ladies and the toddler.

Approx. 10 min. drive away: Delbrook Apartment Buildings: Rents $720/mo for a 2 bedroom, but another student and I split the larger of the two bedrooms, making it $210/mo for both of us and $300 for a 3rd student who had their own room. 5 min. drive away: Wesley Park Apartments: The rent is about $815 a month for a two bedroom; this includes Washer/dryer upstairs next to the bedrooms. The master bedroom is huge, big enough for two students easily. The utilities are low, I think our highest heating bill over the winter was just over $100 and we stayed plenty warm. They are really nice here and we love it. They also have play ground, pool, and park next door, and you can walk to Weis for groceries, the Dollar Store and the Bank. (717)-766-2426
